Evernote Legacy Will Not Work After March 23, 2024

I’m a new (and very happy) DEVONthink user. A few weeks ago I imported my 8,311 notes from Evernote. I had to scrounge around the web to find a legacy version of Evernote; it was no longer available from Evernote, contrary to the DT manual. The import was an amazingly simple, fast, and effective process. All my Evernote notebooks and tags were preserved.

Yesterday I got this email notice:

Update to continue using Evernote
On March 23, 2024, we’ll be saying goodbye to legacy versions of the Evernote app. On that date, all versions of Evernote released prior to v10 on macOS, Windows, and Android will stop working. The iOS version has already been decommissioned.

Future refugees from EN should still be able to import their data to DT, but it will be more cumbersome - they would need to export individual EN folders or batch notes as .enex filles, then import these multiple files into DT.

This information is irrelevant to current DT users, but may be helpful to the DEVONtechnologies team and future EN folks who are contemplating moving over to DT.

BTW, fantastic community here. And BLUEFROG is amazing.

This is the current documentation…

Development will have to assess this feature’s future inclusion in the menu.

And yes, we strongly recommend exporting notebooks to multiple .enex files over trying to export one massive one.

And thank you for the kind words of encouragement!
