Excel sheet saving as new document each time

I’m working on an Excel spreadsheet and have it set to save to my DT3 global inbox. Each time I make some edits and hit “save,” it appears in the inbox as a new and separate document. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

You shouldn’t be saving to the Global Inbox’s alias. That is a directory watched by DEVONthink and automatically imports what it finds there.

Also, put the spreadsheet into your database and open it from within DEVONthink.
You can select it and press Shift-Command-O or set Settings > General > Interface > Double-click opens documents externally so you can double-click files to open them in their own apps.

PS: Are you using .xls or .xlsx files?
