export only exports some items

I’m using DT Personal 1.81.b on Macintosh 10.3.4.

I select a group containing 16 items.  Mostly links but some RTFD and text items too.

I export it to a USB thumbdrive, but only 7 of the 16 items are saved.

Two of those are folders, with names like

2844915A-F258-11D8-862C-000D93C0E03C-581-0000004645C2D3F0.tmp

the folders contain a txt document from the DT group I was exporting.

I would say that DT crashed in the middle of the export, but no idea why, and no idea where to look for log entries telling why.

So if you have any clues, please post a comment.

Thanks

That’s strange as DT doesn’t use such file names. The only possible explanation coming to my mind is that you’ve tried to export a RTFD document and that this document crashed Cocoa (as the RTFD handling of OS X up to v10.3.5 is buggy) leaving back a temporary file.

Therefore version 1.9 will use its background server to export documents too and therefore exporting can’t crash anymore (even if those Cocoa bugs should crash the background server - DT 1.9 will just relaunch the server if necessary and try to export the file again).

Thank you for the feedback clues.

When you said that you don’t use that sort of file naming convention, I thought about the fact that I was exporting to a USB thumb drive.  And in checking that, it’s still formatted as a Windows/DOS disk.

Exporting to a Macintosh formatted disk works fine.

Thanks again.
