Exporting annotations?

I’m wondering if anyone has a preferred way to export annotations from PDF documents in DT3? I do a lot of highlighting in PDFs in the morning DTTG and looking on a simple way to just pull those highlights out into a note. I know i can simply select the annotations and copy them, but they are formatted in a manner that doesn’t make getting the content out easy without further formatting. For instance

1 Highlight (my name) 2/17/25, 2:44:19 AM

I would love to be able to simply export or copy the text without my name, date time, and this odd set of spacing.

Suggestions?

Tools > Summarize Annotations.

Also, if you’re using Markdown for the Summary documents, you can blockquote the annotation instead of showing the style, e.g., highlighting…

In addition to DT‘s “Summarize Annotations” command, you could also try Ryan J.A. Murphy‘s “Stream annotations” script (forum discussion). Or, if you prefer individual notes per annotation, have a look at my “Script to create individual Markdown notes from PDF annotations”.
