Hi
I have made a bunch of notes using MD, including links to other MD notes. But I do miss being able to make a visual overview of the relationship between the notes. Is it possible to export a bunch of notes (for example, those having a specific tag) into another app that can make such a graphic overview?
And - which app could that be?
The optional Graph View script which is available via the support assistant might be useful here.
Yeah - I wasn’t aware of that opportunity. It works all right but the graph is visually a bit rough
You could either export to or index a group in DT to an Obsidian Vault. Obsidian would then give you the view you want. There is one caveat - the links need to be wiki links and not DT item links for it to work.
Attached is a screen shot from my cookbook which is a collection of recipes. The cookbook exists as group hierarchy in DT that is indexed at the top level with an Obsidian vault so the two are always the same.
screen shot take on iPad but looks the same on MacoS
Damn - I use item links. By browsing on the internet I have come across OK results using ‘Show Graph’ as previously suggested, also for items with many links/connections. I think I stick to that (and avoid further rabbit holes)
To be clearer…
Markdown item links of the type [link to note2](note2.md)
work in Obsidian and show in the graph view as well as wiki links [[note2]]
.
It is DT item links [link to note 2](x-devonthink-item://A924E832-95BE-4FEB-B0CB-45D907CB9D91)
that won’t show in the graph view.
