Facing Page Scanning

Greetings,

If I scan text from a book, I get individual pdf pages that represent 2 facing pages. How do I set the pdf up so that textflow is preserved, so that line 3 on page 1 flows to line 4 on page 1, rather than to line 3 on page 2?

I presume this can be done somehow. Currently I am using acrobat to scan, since Devonthink doesn’t recognise my scanner. I’d be glad, however, to know how this is done in both acrobat and devonthink, so that when I figure out how to get DTP to recognise the scanner I can do the same in both applications.

Thanks,

Declan

To extract text from a PDF with columns, hold down the Option key while “drawing” a box around the lines of text to be copied. The text will become selected and can be copied to the clipboard using Command-C.

That’s perfect. Exactly what I wanted to know.

Sometimes the difficulty in finding answers is related to the difficulty of expressing them in the correct terms… you correctly intuited my meaning, well done.

Thanks,

Declan
