Feature request: Show group selector on main screen

When a DEVONthink window is open on a second screen (and there’s no DEVONthink window on the primary screen) then the group selector opens on the second screen.

Especially when adding from Safari (via dragging the selection onto the DEVONthink icon in the dock) its cumbersome to move the mouse to the second screen each time. Already tried window manager yabai to automatically move the group selector to the primary screen but it seems it’s not possible.

Please add an option that opens the group selector on the macOS’ primary screen.

Dragging to the Dock calls services (as the Dock has no useful API in this regard) and since Sonoma this activates the application. Dragging to the Sorter might be an alternative.

Still on Ventura.

I tried that but didn’t find a way to add the Safari selection this way. How exactly does it work?

Is the Sorter a menu extra or tab on your Mac?

It’s a menu extra.

Just drag to the menu extra which should pop up and then drop it on the desired group.

This works but it creates a rtf record. Dragging to the dock creates a webarchive.

Actually the Dock decided on its own to call DEVONthink’s service to capture a web archive in this case, it’s not controlled by DEVONthink.
