I frequently want to sort groups and tags in the sidebar by a date field that I’ve created in custom metadata. I don’t show groups in the listview, so I access them mostly through the sidebar, but the only sort options are By Name, By Kind, or Unsorted. It would be enormously useful if we could sort a group or a smart group by a specific custom metadata. The only way to do this now (correct me if I’m wrong) is to include the date at the front of the name, but this makes it hard to use autocomplete on the rest of the name (I have to remember the date).
