Find & Replace line break / return no longer works

version 3.0.1, Mac

In DT2 you used to be able to search for line breaks / return character by either option-return or copy/paste of return character. Pasting into find field turns line breaks into spaces. I often find I need an extra line break between paragraphs and would previously find a line break and replace with two line breaks. DT3 find input field no longer allows this. Any help?
