Finder does not respect leading underscore in new group name

Hi there. I have a folder indexed in DEVONthink 3 (DT3). Inside of that folder in DT3, I’ve created a new group called “_Master”. DT3 displays the newly created name as expected, but the path that it has created on my file system (Finder) is simply “Master” with the the leading underscore removed.

I’d like to use the leading underscore for sorting purposes. Is it a bug or a feature that DT3 removes it? If it’s a feature, can it be changed or customized?

This is intentional to improve the compatibility (to other platforms, file systems and older macOS releases).
