For Index Folders tags do not seem to be inherieted from folders to documents

On my filesystem I have a folder Invoices+Receipts in this folder I have some subfolders containing PDF and EML documents. The top folder Invoices+Receipts has the tag invoice attached.

I index the top folderInvoices+Receipts in DEVONthink and I was hoping/expecting all documents inside would inherited this tag. – They don’t.

Do I do something wrong? Or is this not possible?

Why would you expect the child documents to automatically get the parent’s tags? No, this will not automatically happen. You need to enable, per-database, File > Database Properties > Inherit Tags of Groups.

Really? At least in APFS and the Linux file systems I know, + is no special character. /, : are, though.

Ups, yes, that’s what it was: I had enabled it on most DBs, but not on that one with the indexed folder Invoices+Receipts.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
