Fresh new global inbox for DT3 and DTTG

I stopped using DT3 and DTTG for over a year and am back on the wagon. I read Don’t Use DEVONthink as a Junk Drawer and realized that’s exactly what I was doing. I would like to start a fresh global inbox for DT3 and DTTG. I found “A Fresh New Global Inbox” article which references DT2 and the directions are close enough for DT3.

How do I create a new global inbox for DTTG on iphone and ipad? Thanks.

Why does this have to be complicated?
Using DT3, create a new database
Select All notes in the Global Inbox, and move them to the new database
Sync to DTTG

@DTLow’s suggestion is certainly a reasonable one.

If you don’t care about the contents of the Global Inbox and DEVONthink is syncing with DEVONthink To Go, you could also delete the contents of the Inbox in DEVONthink To Go, then sync DEVONthink. Empty the Trash to fully remove the items. This would remove the contents from both Macs.

On my iphone, I deleted the contents from the global inbox and synced to the MBP. Then synced to the ipad. The only database is the global inbox. noticed that on the iphone, when i see the info for DTTG (the question mark button on bottom), I have 1.06 GB, 2 items. On the ipad, it’s 2.67 GB, 2 items. The info of the global inbox shows size: 0 bytes (2 items) for both iphone and ipad. I emptied the trash and restarted both devices. Under “iphone storage” the iphone shows 1.44 GB of documents & data and the iphone shows 3.02 GB of documents & Data.

What are next steps to reclaim the space? Thanks

can you post screenshots?

What kind of sync are you doing? And yes, screen captures would be helpful.

I’m using bonjour sync from the devices to DT3 on macbook.

Forgot to tag reply to you. It’s bonjour sync. See the screen captures from above. Let me know what steps to reclaim the space. TIA.

@BLUEFROG Since DTTG has not reclaimed the storage space, should I delete and reinstall the app? The global inbox is still an empty database.
