Hello,
I have five items listed in the DTTG Reading List. All UI text is showing with a reduced intensity. I can select the individual items, but I cannot get information or open them. I moved the files in DTPro, but I don’t see in the DTTG handbook that that is a problem.
Any ideas or suggestions on what could be the issue and how to deal with ‘ghosts’ in the DTTG Reading List?
Thanks,
Francis
In DEVONthink, did you move them to a database you’re not syncing with DEVONthink To Go?
Yes. I’m assuming that causes the ‘ghost’ behaviour? Is there a way to keep items in the Reading List but move a replicant, copy, or file into a non-synced database?
Well, if a document isn’t available to DEVONthink To Go in its databases, it is logically disabled.
Is there a way to keep items in the Reading List but move a replicant, copy, or file into a non-synced database?
You can’t replicate across databases but yes you could duplicate a document into another database. But what are you trying to accomplish?
True, but to me a “Reading List” suggests possibly some symbolic link would remain to allow the reading list to stay functional. I don’t remember a warning when I moved the files, at least.
What I want to accomplish is that I have a reading list of files I should comment on separate from my ‘repository’ copies of the duplicate files and many other files
How could it stay functional when the original document can’t be located and accessed by DEVONthink To Go?
What I want to accomplish is that I have a reading list of files I should comment on separate from my ‘repository’ copies of the duplicate files and many other files
Then why aren’t you adding the copies to comment on into the Reading List instead?
Functional for me, obviously :), means it works always the way I think it should or otherwise gives me a prompt so that I know my function needs to be implemented differently.
Adding copies to comment on to the Reading List would be in line with my functional ideal. I’ll read the DTTG handbook again to see how to add copies to the Reading List. Regarding that: is there any way to identify files from the DTTG Reading List in DTPro, or is the Reading List separate from tags and metadata?
And thanks for the thoughts and prompts.
