Hi there,
I started with DTPO today for testing. Documents are scanned by ScanSnap and moved to the sorter.
Now, I have two inboxes: 1st the global one and 2nd the inbox of one ‘open DB’ below.
Only, if I move the file imported to the second inbox, GTPO suggests folders of the open DB.
This bringst the first two questions, I was not successful by searching this forum and reviewing lots of youtube videos:
A. What sense does a ‘global inbox’ make, if the suggested sorting does not reference two folders of an ‘open DB’? What’s wrong? What’s my mistake in understanding the workflow or correct way of using it?
B. I dragged the inbox of the ‘open DB’ to the sorter. Why is this inbox shaded and the ‘global inbox’ is in straight, more bright colors?
Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

Using a Mac with macOS Sierra a newest version of GTPO with sync to Synology NAS.
Don’t use the Sorter to move output files from the ScanSnap to DTPO.
Why? Because the ScanSnap is controlled by ScanSnap Manager, which can be set up to interface directly with DTPO. In ScanSnap Manager Settings > Application tab, make sure that your profile is set to DTPO, and in the Save tab, use the default setting of your Pictures folder. Do NOT check the OCR option in ScanSnap Manager Settings.
In DTPO Preferences > OCR, the original ScanSnap output files will be deleted from the Pictures folder after text recognition if the option Move to Trash is checked. Of course, the option to Convert to searchable PDF should be checked.
In DTPO Preferences > Import - Destination there are three options for the destination of new items: Global Inbox, Inbox of frontmost database view or Select group. I usually have Select group checked, as that allows choice of any group in any open database.
Thanks @Bill_DeVille.
I just followed your hints and it is working: ScanSnap to DTPO, OCR and save in Inbox of active DB. Fine!
I just wonder, how to change the (Global) ‘Inbox’ as a favorite in finder to a the ‘inbox’ of the active DB?

You can’t. The inbox of other databases does not exist, so there’s nowhere to point to.
