Help recreating my DT3 Standard view sidebar in DT4

Devonians-

I feel like this is something easy to address, but I just don’t see how, despite consulting Help and web searches.

I’ve just migrated from DT3 to DT4 (I purchased a DT4 license long ago, but put the migration off until a planned move to a new machine—which took longer than planned!). Here was my Standard view sidebar in DT3:

My databases each have lots of groups and subgroups/folders, and I keep most of them open so it’s easy to access content. A single click on a database at in “Open Databases” would display the database below (here the Athenaeum database).

Here’s the Standard view I currently have for DT4:

Now the databases appear as collapsed groups, and there is no dedicated section to display a selected database. If I want to switch from one database to another, now it takes two clicks—I have to close the one I’m currently working in even to see the other one, and then click again in order to expand it.

How do I adjust the Standard view so it works like it did for DT3? I feel like there’s some obvious View menu item or other setting that will do this, but I’m not seeing it.

Settings > General > Interface > Unify Databases needs to be unchecked

Brilliant; thank you! I looked at the Settings > General pane, dimly recalling changing something there years ago, but failed to look at the Interface tab and compare it to my laptop’s (still running DT3). Thanks for the quick help!

This is also discussed in the Windows > Sidebar: Navigate section of the built-in Help and manual.

Thanks. As I mentioned, I looked in the online Help. I had guessed (incorrectly) that this was some kind of “view” setting, so that’s what I looked for. I dimly recalled dealing with this before, but hadn’t recalled the “unify” terminology (which I still find a bit confusing). Anyway, I see it as a kind of oblique compliment to DT that there are so many customization capabilities that even a user dating back to DT1 in 2008 can’t remember them all.
