Highlighting in DEVONthink To Go from iphone are not recognized on mac

Hello to whomever might read this.
I have noticed this bug (?) quite some time ago, and I wanted to either report it properly, or ask for help if someone knows how to fix it.

I have DEVONthink installed on all of my machines - Mac, iPhone and iPad. (To Go version on the last two.)
I sync using iCloud, if this is somehow relevant.
When highlighting from my Mac, I can see these changes from both my iPad and iPhone, additionally, they are recognized properly as highlights which I can interact with (i.e. change color, remove, etc.)
When I highlight from my iPad, everything syncs properly, and the highlights are interactable from every other machine (even if the style is different from the Mac version).
However, when I am highlighting from my iPhone, I can only interact with those from my phone or iPad.
From my Mac, those highlights are recognized as parts of the pdf layer (so I cannot change them, or remove them. “Convert to pdf with no annotations” still works, but is not ideal in case I want to change only a single highlight.)

Is this an intentional behavior? And if not, is there a way to fix that?

I am using the latest stable public version at this point (3.9.10 if I am not mistaken).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome @SergiyHoref
You didn’t mention if you are annotating in DEVONthink To Go or another application on mobile.

Hello @BLUEFROG , thank you for the reply.
Yes, you are totally right, I am doing all of my annotations solely through DEVONthink To Go.

You’re welcome!
What kind of annotation(s) are you using that don’t work in DEVONthink?
A screen capture could be helpful.

I am doing a single kind on annotation - only highlighting in different colors.
Of course, I am including three photos - two for what I see on my phone, the other one for mac, after syncing is done.
Actually, I have noticed that in this case the file becomes “Read-Only” from my mac, which is possibly the cause of the problem. (I can still edit it freely from my iPhone and iPad.)

Okay, a small update, I have been working on two files today, and only one of them has this problem.
I have done the same kind of annotations on both files, around approximately the same time.
Only one of them becomes “Read-Only” and therefore has problems with annotations.
I don’t think that I have done anything specific to get this behavior.

There are however changes to the text layer, on the pages which have been annotated on my phone:
This is me selecting supposedly two lines in the left column. As you can see from the annotations done on my phone - there the columns are separated properly.

DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go don’t use the same PDF framework.
Open a support ticket and include the problematic PDF – the one that became read-only – for us to inspect.

Great, thank you!
I have just created a support ticket.
