For example, I want to pick up some fields in metadata, as author, title etc, to export them into a formatted list. How I can do this? Thanks!
Hi, and welcome to the forum From the DEVONthink 3.8 Documentation, page 147
Create Metadata Overview: Creates a sheet
with records for each selected file. The
columns contain data from the generic and
custom metadata of each file.
You’ll find that menu entry in the Tools menu.
Thanks for you quick response! I tried the “Create Metadata Overview” function, but it’s not extact what I want. I want to export a text list but not a table, with flexible specified metadata items.
Hey the metadata overview is a TSV file, so you effectively have a list in text format. You can select which columns to keep in the file from the context menu of any entry in the file (> Edit columns…). You can otherwise modify the file in any spreadsheet app. If that is not what you need, a few lines of AppleScript could pick up the metadata you want and output it to a plain text file as a list in whatever format you choose.
Thank you very much! I will try this. Appreciate your help.
