When I edit a text in markdown format in DTP, the links appear in blue regardless of the text and background color.
Is there an option to change this link color to make them more visible, for example on a dark gray background?

Are you using a custom style sheet in Preferences > Media?
Yes I am.
But does the custom style sheet also have an effect in “Source Mode”? I thought it only changed the appearance of the Preview…

Is there now a way to change the color of links? They are only legible in the source view when using light color themes with markdown files in DT4.4.

It’s only possible to change themes. A screenshot would be useful.
It looks like this is specifically about wikilinks. Regular markdown links are perfectly legible.
The color of wikilinks change to something more legible against dark backgrounds when I enable dark mode for the whole system.

Wiki linking is independent of Markdown & themes currently, a future release will improve this.

I know it’s possible to change themes for Markdown Previews, but is it possible to edit/add to the default themes introduced in 4.4 for Source view?
If not, could we get that capability?

Thank you. I thought this was what was meant by “Markdown coloriser” mentioned in the beta notes.
I’ll also join the chorus of appreciation for the work you’re doing on Devonthink. It’s been part of my software stable since 2003, but not central. That’s changed in 2026: it’s now where most of my work gets done.

I’d settle for a theme that looked like DT 4.3. Colour themes are great for people who want them, but I can’t be alone in preferring the crisp contrast of black text on white (or white on black for the dark mode fans), with just some blue for links. The Automatic theme gives me most of what I want, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to change the blue heading styles back to black, or to make the very faint grey of URLs in non-WYSIWYG mode easier to see and edit.

This is indeed something of a challenge. However, I really like the fact that now those links are not themselves clickable in edit mode.
By way of explanation, I edit links in my journal entries (imported from Day One) to add specific search criteria (making it easier to find the cross-reference within the linked journal entry). I have an Alfred workflow that helps me to do that but I have to start by selecting the relevant link in DT. Previously it was all to easy to jump to the linked entry while doing that, so I’m really grateful for that change. However, if I make some error with the search criteria there’s rather a lot of close peering at the updated link to make the changes. 
(Although I have to confess it’s easier now that I’ve switched from having a light background for documents.)

Yes, I like this change too. And leaving the link text clickable is a good compromise, though there are times when I’d prefer it the other way round. But mostly the new editor is brilliant.

Do you mean DEVONthink’s item links?
i think so? i’m referring to the links that are generated when i right-click in a pdf in DT and click Copy Page Link or Copy Selection Link. when i paste those into a markdown document, they are still the standard blue link color which is difficult to read in the darker markdown themes.
Yes, those are item links.
The next release will improve this too.
