How to Extract a Single Page from a PDF in DEVONthink?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to achieve the following workflow in DEVONthink:

When I open a multi-page PDF (for example, a book), I’d like to extract a single page and create a new document containing just that page.

The only method I’ve found so far is to select the page thumbnail in the inspector pane, copy it, and paste it into a database or the inbox.

Question:
Is there a better or more efficient way to do this? Perhaps a built-in extract command or a simpler copy/paste method?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I do that by “printing” one PDF page from the original. See “print” dialog box.

Edit: from subsequent posts below (Thanks!) learned that showing the PDF in Preview, then can simply “drag and drop” to a folder or desktop. New to me (after decades of Mac use). Muscle memory.

Do you (did you) come from the Windows world?

Didn’t we all, eventually? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

But no — luckily, I’ve been a macOS user for quite a while now.

Though maybe not as long as some of the real power users around here!

What made you ask?

Copy and paste is a very Windows action. Drag and drop is more Mac-native.

Jim, Cmd-C / Cmd-V is great for the old farts with some esssential tremor ha ha ha (just to make sure, I am referring to myself). These days, drag and drop is mostly for getting up in the morning and going to bed at night.

hahaha!
I had many years on Windoze (and still keep a laptop for random support needs) so I know the drill but on a Mac, it’s drag and drop all the way for me. In fact, it’s the first thing I try in many scenarios.

I’m investigating a German mouse that rectifies jerky movements. If it works, d&d
