How to find documents in all databases except one database

I have multiple databases I usually search across: computer, general, study, external, name1 and name2.

Now I want search across all these databases, except the study database. – How can I do this?

(I came only up the workaround to temporarily close the study database, but a way to express this in the query syntax would be a lot nicer because then the search shows up correctly in Recent Searches, etc.)

Select the databases in the sidebar and use the Selection option in the Scope bar.

Cool! Very cool! Never thought that I can select multiple DBs in the side bar!

@cgrunenberg What would be nice, to have such a thing in Global Smart Rules and Groups. I have got some special databases - e.g. for testing my scripts - which I do not want to consider in my global rules and groups.

Visually the selector looks like you can select multiple databases:
