How to import from indexed folders?

i’ve been using an indexed folder and all its subfolders within DT3 for one of my databases. I’ve decided that I want to import everything into the database and use bonjour sync to sync to another computer. The primary reason is that I want to better use groups and tags to break free from a finder folder model. For example, I have a couple of pdfs that could exist in multiple groups and tags. I believe that i can export back to a finder folder with the groups as subfolders if it doesn’t work for me.

  • What is the best way to import a folder and its subfolders?
  • What pitfalls are there when I import?
  • Anything else I should be aware of?

Select the indexed group, Control-click it and choose Move into Database. This will move the group into the database.

I see no particular pitfalls to mention.
