How to prevent a file and/or directory from deletion

Is there a way to “lock” a file/directory to protect from inadvertent deletion?

A document can be locked, which doesn’t prevent it from moving to the Trash, but does prevent it from being removed from the Trash unless you explicitly tell DEVONthink to “Remove All Items” (includes “locked items” when emptying the trash).

Remember – the Trash for a database is just another group in that database – so items in databases are not “deleted” they are “moved to the Trash”.

Finally, even when the Trash is emptied, the files are placed in the file system’s trash, and can be recovered from there.
