The recent version 3.9.7 (just installed) and the blog post (DEVONtechnologies | DEVONthink 3.9.7) announces an interesting new feature: adding the current safari tab to DT’s reading list. Unfortunately, I can’t figure out how this works. I don’t see the list of safari scripts, neither in Safari’s options, nor in DT. Is there an explanation somewhere as to how this works?
It’s available in the global scripts menu extra which can be activated e.g. via the settings of the Script Editor.app.
To make it clear: you must set the preference in Script Editor like so
Then you’ll have a script symbol in the menu (in my case it’s hidden by Bartender). When Safari is open, it’ll display something like that:
You can also use Services from the context menu when you have an URL selected in Safari.
Thank you very much! I’ve now figured out where it is located.
To be sure I fully understand: this procedure only saves the url-link of the tab in question into the ‘glasses’-tab of DT, it does not copy the whole page, right?
Correct - though there are ways through the UI or by script that you could Clip the entire page to Devonthink if you wished to do so.
