Hi
I’ve tried migrating from DTTG3 to DTTG4, but I’m running into some issues.
After the migration (iPad pro), I end up with 80+ orphaned files. I’ve already tried using the repair function, but the orphaned files remain. I also use DT4 Pro on my desktop, where these databases don’t have any orphaned files. I have optimized and checked my existing databases, and in DTTG3 there are no orphaned files either.
What can I do to avoid having to go through each orphaned file and repair it manually?
Welcome @schloemilch
Orphaned files need to be handled manually as the software has no idea where they came from. However, if you’ve done a File > Verify & Repair Database on the database on the Mac and everything is intact, I would recommend deleting the database in DEVONthink To Go and reimporting it from the sync location.
PS: What you’re reporting is highly unusual. Switching from DEVONthink To Go 3 to 4 wouldn’t inherently cause such an issue. I am wondering if the issue has been there longer than you thought.
