I keep getting the message "Couldn't communicate with a helper application"

And then in the info column: “NSCocoaErrorDomain4101”

I can’t find anything about this through a general search and I’ve tried verifying & repairing all the open databases, no issues.

i’d appreciate guidance as to what to do next!

Which version of macOS and DEVONthink do you use? Does this happen after e.g. OCR or a sync? Finally, please choose Help > Report Bug while pressing the Alt modifier key and send the result to cgrunenberg - at - devon-technologies.com - thanks!
