iCloud: Syncing Mac and iOS

I was able to setup sync with my iCloud on iOS, and it works between my iPhone and iPad. I then setup iCloud sync with my Mac, and it is asking for “sync store name”. I put “devonthink”, and it syncs, but it seems to be in parallel with the iOS syncs; files are not syncing between the two systems.

What am I doing wrong?

You are setting up iCloud Drive (incorrect) instead of iCloud (correct). Select the iCloud Drive location and press the minus button to remove it. It is incompatible with DEVONthink To Go and iCloud sync has replaced it.

PS: I just tweeted about this. You should follow us on Twitter (@devontech).

Thanks! I had to quit and then reopen devonthink, and then the “iCloud” option was there.

No problem. I do suggest cleaning and getting rid of the iCloud Drive sync location, if you haven’t. Cheers!

OSX version updated!
What if you had neither options?
No iCloud nor iCloud Drive.

Do you have iCloud Drive visible in the Finder?

Do you mean this?

Yes. In DEVONthink, hold the Option key and select Help > Report Bug. Thanks.

Ok thank you

Which version of macOS do you use?

Latest stable version.

Are iCloud Drive and DEVONthink enabled in System Preferences > iCloud?

You mean this? I only see iCloud Drive enabled but DT is not there.

Click on Options…

DEVONthink should be there, and checked to enable iCloud sync.

DevonThink don’t show up in there (system settings -> iCloud -> iCloud drive options) for me, how do I fix that?

Well it’s not there.

Ughhh
