iMac with DVT 3 and iPad with DVT 4

I have DVT pro running on my desktop and just downloaded DVT 4 on my iPad. For the life of me, I can figure out out to have it syncing. I have another MacBook and an iPhone running DVT Go 3 and they sync just fine.

There is no functional difference between syncing DEVONthink To Go 3 and 4. You just need to set it up, just as you had to set it up previously.

  • What sync method are you using?
  • Have you subscribed or used a mobile seat for DEVONthink To Go? You cannot sync unless one of those things has happened.

No, I hadn’t subscribed a mobile seat, I finally bit the bullet and just upgraded to 4 for $99.00.
My iPad seems to be syncing now.

One of my older Mac desktop can’t upgrade to 4, so it’s destined to stay at 3. Do you know if I can continue to sync with my other devices when they are all running 4?

Yes, you will be able to sync. However, version 3 of both apps now retired from development and will no longer be updated. Something to keep in mind going forward.

By the way, did you subscribe or use a mobile seat from the Pro edition of DEVONthink?

Yes, I upgraded my 3 pro to 4 pro.
