Import (or Index) from Rack2-Filer Smart (Fujitsu ScanSnap)

Dear all,

This is my first post - before even having purchased DEVONthink.

I am about to switch from Windows to MacOS and plan to bring my 2 TB of scanned (PDF) documents with me. I use a piece of software that came with my Fujitsu ScanSnap under Windows: Rack2-Filer Smart.

The software is old and gives me the feeling of being locked into it. My hope is that DEVONthink would potentially provide an import option that would help me bring the data over to MacOS.

Has anyone of you had this use case already and can tell whether my hope is (not) in vain?

Any tips regarding migration woudl be appreciated.

There is no in-house information on this particular app (or anecdotal that I can recall).

Are there exports options available in the app?

Also, bear in mind we would not advise putting 2TB of documents into a database injudiciously. What are these documents?

These are the digitalized family documents (over the course of generations). I will inquire with the producers of Rack2-Filer, then. Their solution has XML reference documents linking to flat-file PDFs.
