Hello,
when I clip for example an article with Devonthink I would also like to have the option to add it to the reading list. Would be great to have this feature with the sorter also by a keyboard shortcut.

Adding buttons to the Sorter would likely not be ideal as it’s intended to be a clean and simple interface. Creating additional buttons and dials and wires and fuses 
only defeats that purpose.
I would suggest you make a smart rule and use a detectable property, e.g., a tag of To Read, to do what you want.
