Importing from Apple Notes

Hello,

I am importing my notes from Apple Notes to DT4. Most of my notes are just files (photos or scanned documents) and I observe the following:

  1. most notes with JPG attachments are correctly showing, and have their corresponding attachment in the ‘Attachments’ subfolder
  2. almost all with PDF attachments show as empty notes (just the title) and the PDF is not in the ‘Attachment’ subfolder. By searching the hard drive I can localize the PDF with the correct name (which is the note title) in the com.apple.Notes container.

Since most of the notes are just attachments, I could write a script to go through the container and retrieve the PDFs, but I wanted to check if anybody else has observed this?

I am on Sequoia 15.5, Intel Mac

Are you using group tags in the database?

I am not sure, how do I check that?

File > Database Properties with the database selected in DEVONthink will have Exclude Groups From Tagging disabled.

Exclude Groups From Tagging is enabled, but the notes are being imported into Inbox not the database. Should I run the import while my database is selected?

It will import into the selected database into a special Notes group.

I have tried again importing into the database and the result is the same: notes consisting of JPGs import correctly (and the corresponding attachments are in the ‘Attachments’ subgroup) while notes consisting of PDFs appear empty (and the attachments are nowhere to be found).
