Importing Safari Bookmarks

So, I’ve read in the manual that importing Safari bookmarks is straightforward, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how. I’ve tried importing the .plist from my Safari folder, but that just shows up as XML which doesn’t seem all that useful.
Can someone share the steps to import bookmarks?

Just drag one or more bookmarks from Safari to DT. However, DT 1.9 will feature an "Import Safari Bookmarks" plugin to import all of them easily.
