I’ve been making some good use of custom metadata lately. One field I use is of type ‘multi-line text’. Focus is very unpredictable when entering data into this field. Focus constantly ‘pops’ out of the widget while I am typing requiring me to reset focus with the mouse. I’ve marked this as a bug-report because my expectation is that the focus should be stable until I choose to leave the widget.

There aren’t any widgets in DEVONthink. Are you referring to typing in the Custom Info inspector?
-
Is there any process going on in the background, like a sync or creating thumbnails, etc. See Window > Activity.
-
How consistent is the behavior? Every time you type in that field? 50% of the time? Less?
-
Does the behavior persist after quitting and relaunching DEVONthink?
Yes I am referring to the Custom Info Inspector. I have synch with a dropbox location configured as ‘Synchronize: Automatic’. It is inconsistent - sometimes I can type the entire content I wish to type, other times I need to readjust the focus repeatedly . . . no rhyme or reason as far as I can tell.
- Are you indexing files in the Dropbox folder?
- If so, do you see the issue when you’re modifying custom metadata on one of those files?
Please hold the Option key and choose Help > Report bug to start a support ticket.
Perhaps there is something in the logs.
I am encountering the same issue with the custom info inspector. Did you happen to find any solution?
Please provide more information than this, e.g., what version of DEVONthink and OS you’re running and what data type you’re seeing an issue with.
