Insert Item Link not responding

I haven’t found anything via search, hence I am starting a new topic. I am encountering an issue with the command „Insert Item Link“. I am running DTP 4.0.2 but also had this issue in DTP 3. After some time, when I want to insert a link via the shortcut CTRL+CMD+E or via the menu (which I rely on heavily) nothing happens. When this happens, also the Open Group (CTRL+CMD+G) and Open File (CTRL+CMD+O) commands aren’t working.

I verified and even rebuilt the database. In the past, a restart of DTP solved the issue temporarily but reappeared after some time. This time it only disappeared after several restarts.

I have no idea why this is happening. Any ideas/suggestions? I set up syncing to a webdav server, could it have anything to do with that?

Attached you can find a screencap. At first I am trying the shortcut command and after that the menu entry.

Are you on a multi-monitor setup?

not always but it occurs indepently from the setup. And this time I was certainly not using two monitors
