Integration with Todoist again

There are scripts in DT which allow you to easily create tasks from DT items.
There work really well & I have been using them with Omnifocus.
I am looking at Todoist because it is simpler & I am always trying to simplify my life (with varying degrees of success!). Is there a similar script to create tasks for Todoist?

Bill

DEVONthink doesn’t include any scripts for this app and the only one I found here is this one:

I have a Todoist version of our reminder scripts if you want to try it.
Bear in mind, the natural language processing of Todoist may change the due date automatically, which is one reason I didn’t use GUI scripting to try and press the Return key.

Let me know if you want to try it.

Happy to give it a go, sounds like it might be interesting!
Thanks for your (& Christian’s) swift reply

Bill

You’re welcome.

Add as To Do to Todoist.scptd.zip (31.9 KB)

maybe this is useable for you, too.

This certainly creates a task in the Todoist inbox.
There is no link to the DT item though.
I’m no scripture I’m afraid, but when comparing the script for Todoist to the Omnifocus one I can’t see an instruction to: set theURL to (reference URL of thisItem) as string.
Would this enable Todoist to import a link to the DT document?

Bill

Todoist’s URL scheme doesn’t provide for adding a URL to an item.

Okay, thanks.
That limits its usefulness somewhat! Maybe I’ll stick with OF

Bill

I can add the url to the comments section manually & it works okay.
I don’t know if there is a way to script this.

Bill

The URL scheme does not provide for this.

Okay, thanks.

Bill

You’re welcome.

Look at my answer above, I can add items to todoist when tagging an item automatically. The link to the item is of course included

Thanks, I’ll give it a whirl.

Bill

Are their other todo apps that allow adding item link url in their task notes (not along with description of the task)? Todoist and Reminders do not seem to allow url via scripting

Yes both Things & OmniFocus can do this. Scripts to create to-dos in each are already included in DEVONThink.
