Hi, when I select the database in dttg is asks for authentication, user name and password, what is this rreferring to, ie is this icloud login ? Thanks

No. It is the user-defined username and password specified for the database. This is found in the Info popup of a database in DTTG, or File > Database Properties in DEVONthink on the Mac.
