When I first saw the iPhone Duo, the second thing I thought about was DEVONthink To Go and how great it will be to use on both screens.

What the future is bringing is still no e-ink device 
The option is right there with the multiple screens on the Duo and still they deprive us. It’s like they don’t listen to the random demands I make on the internet!

And I don’t think there ever will be. Due to their characteristics, E-ink devices simply don’t fit into Apple’s product philosophy, even more now they are centering in brainless lusers. That said, you can simulate something very similar by switching the display to grayscale via Accessibility settings and then enabling Dark Mode. Assign that to the power button’s triple-click shortcut, and you’re all set. That’s how I have mine set up when I use my iPad, although lately I do almost everything on Boox devices.

I have both my iPad and my iPhone set up that way but it’s not enough sometimes. I think I agree with you that it’s never coming, but it’s frustrating because it would round out their work tech offerings (it would be “the serious reader”). I feel like Amazon and others have demonstrated there’s enough demand there. They did file a patent a few years ago with an e-ink screen but I assume never made a prototype device they were satisfied with. But something like the Duo could’ve worked for this if they felt a black&white screen was too much of a departure from their current design ethos; they could’ve kept one standard screen and added a second e-ink screen for focused tasks.
I do think DTTG will be interesting on the Duo screen and can see the appeal for a hybrid ‘work and play’ device like this (I won’t be buying one as I suspect I’d break that hinge within a month).

Not sure making DTTG compatible with the new Duo would be high-up on my list. The amount of time and effort vs the return from a very small user base, would hardly warrant the expenditure, especially when there are other outstanding issues to address.
At this time, we’ve made no committment to anything but investigation and discussion.
…such as ? I’m not saying we aren’t continuing to add, improve, and fix things but this is a vague statement. What are you specifically referring to?
