iPhone Mirroring for DTTG Sync

I upgraded to Sequoia this week and tried out iPhone mirroring - it seems like a cool idea though I wasn’t sure what practical use it would have.

It turns out that DTTG sync may be a good use. I have long tried to figure out solutions to sync a large database with my iPhone given the constraints on how long iOS lets DTTG remain open.

iPhone mirroring seems to be quite useful in this regard. I can effortlessly plug in my phone while I am working on my Mac and set it to Sync DTTG. I can even answer calls and view notifications as it happens.

It does randomly disconnect on rare occasions but for the most part it just works and allows for a no-fuss extended DTTG sync session. This alone to me was worth upgrading to Sequoia.

Indeed, it could prove useful for monitoring a large import or sync.

It works well enough that the phone just shut down because it got too hot from running the sync so long. (Apparently it may help if I unplug the charger and/or put the phone on a desk rather than fabric surface which is where it was.)

Syncing much smaller databases could eliminate such issues as well
