Just upgraded to DT3 after 10 years of using DT2 Pro Office.
One thing that’s always been a bit fiddly is automatically setting document dates based of the scanned data. With most of my scanned docs being statements and typical household correspondence with a date on the front page, I’m wondering if DT can detect this date and auto-set on scanning?
I can see there’s an option to manually set after OCR but looking for something a bit more automatic when batch scanning docs
Welcome @teasdep and congrats on upgrading to DEVONthink 3!

Depending on the specific content in the document(s), yes, this is possible to do. In fact, there is more than one way to approach this.
AppleScript is definitely one option.
However, for the non-coders, take a look at DEVONthink’s smart rules.
Read Help > DEVONthink 3 Help > Documentation > Window > Sidebar: Navigate: Smart Rules and follow the links into the Automation chapter and the Appendix for deeper references.
