Is it OK to disable Spotlight indexing? Impacts?

Hi all - I am a heavy user of Adobe Lightroom, and in Lightroom Queen’s LR Classic forum (reliable) a number of photographers say they just disabled Spotlight, for its high CPU use (others, like myself, just excluded the Lightroom catalogs form indexing).

If I do disable Spotlight, what are the impacts on DT?

[slight edit] I read a comment from Jim, Nov 2023, that Spotlight doesn’t index inside packages, so that’s already one thing I learned.

This doesn’t impact DEVONthink at all, Spotlight isn’t required by its features. But if you should disable Spotlight completely, then you should also disable the option Create Spotlight index in File > Database Properties to avoid unnecessary disk space & CPU usage.
