Is it possible to make a database an indexed folder?

I would like a database to be an index of a folder on my hard drive, rather than putting indexed folders IN a database. Is that possible?

Example:

Database name: Active Projects
Contents: Project 1, 2, 3, 4 etc

Finder folder name: Active projects
Contents: Project 1, 2, 3, 4 etc

This is what I am able to do so far:

Database name: Active Projects
Contents: Active Projects indexed folder

It’s unclear what you’re asking.
In your last example, it appears you’re just indexing the parent Active Projects folder instead of indexing individual project folders.

Yes, that is possible however, you should read the Help > Documentation > In & Out > Importing & Indexing > Indexing and the filesystem before you proceed with this approach.

No, it’s not. A database isn’t just a folder. It’s a package file with a required and specific internal structure.
