As the subject says , I just upgraded to 4.1 Tags->Add Chat Suggestions To Document no longer seems to be working. I have a Pro license and everything worked fine before upgrading. I am wondering if something has changed in Preferences that might be keeping this from working or if something else may be wrong. Thank you. PS. I did check and Files→Use only already existing tags of database is turned off
Which chat model & provider did you use and what kind of documents did you try to tag?
I am using Ollama and I am attempting to tag PDF files. In Ollama I have tried gemma3, gpt-oss:20b, deepseek-r1 and llama3.2
May not be relevant but just wanted to indicate Summarize via chat and the chat popover are all working fine.
I just tried Ollama & GPT-OSS:20b successfully. Do the PDF documents have a text layer (see their word count)? Does restarting DEVONthink fix this?
Yes they do have a word count (kind is PDF+Text) and no restarting does not fix it. When I import a plain text document it looks like it works.
Also to add. When I am trying this with the PDF docs I do not see anything in top showing ollama is doing anything and in nvtop I don’t see anything happening on the GPU. However, when doing the plain text file I do. It’s like it is not even attempting to process.
A screenshot of Settings > AI > Chat and Settings > Files > Tags would be useful.
Also wanted to say when I import a PDF to a database the automatic chat tagging works.
