Keyboard shortcut to clear Find In Database search field?

I often use Command-Option-F to jump to the Find In Database search field in the toolbar.

Is there a keyboard shortcut to clear that search field?

Escape seems to cancel the database search, but it doesn’t clear the contents of the search field.

Command-Option-F and then Escape seems to have the same effect as just Escape.

Command-Option-F and then Delete (the search field contents are already selected by Cmd-Opt-F) gets rid of the search term but leaves the cancel button in the search field, which is not the typical state of an unused search field.

Should one of these methods work to get the search field back to its original empty state via keyboard shortcut(s)?

Could it be that ⌘+delete and then esc does what you want?

I think you’re looking for Command-Option-F and then Command-Period.

Yes, this does exactly what I want. Thank you!

Thank you also. I’ve always thought Command-Period is the keyboard shortcut for Escape (for example to cancel dialog boxes).

So I expected them to have identical behavior in DT. But they behave differently. Command-Period ends up having the behavior I am looking for.
