Location of "original" versus replicates

Hi

I use DVT for a accounting worklfow.

Documents are added to a main Group. Processed into subgroups by dragging (not replicating) and then tagged using group-tags.

So

MAIN FOLDER

  • SUBFOLDER1
    –SUBSUBFOLDER1
    –SUBSUBFOLDER2
  • SUBFOLDER2
    –SUBSUBFOLDER1
    –SUBSUBFOLDER2

CLASSIFICATION FOLDER

  • SUBGROUP1
  • SUBGROUP2

If I show the “location” field most documents are in the original SUBSUBFOLDER. Sometimes however this shows the SUBGROUP folder.

I understand that replicates are just pointers to one document.

2 questions:

  • what is the logic behind the “location”
  • Once replicated and in the “wrong location” - can I adjust this to the preferred location?

Thanks

Arne

There is no “original document” with replicants. They are all equal. The location shown is the original location of the file that was replicated.
