After more than 10 years using my old macbook, it was time to get a new one, with Sonoma on it.
So the Mail-Plugin is not working anymore, as Apple has removed that possibility. (BTW there is still nothing about that fact in the PDF Manual nor the Online-Help).
The Mailimport over the Import-Sidebar is still somewhat working and now has to rely on scripting Apple Mail from my understanding of reading the manual an here.
Without the Plugin the Mailbox’s structure is lost, all folders are flattened and displayed alphabetically.
Google/Searching lead me to an older threads here, where someone asked about it, one was answered with RTFM (which btw won’t contain anything about that), another question about it not answered.
So, as scripting Apple Mail is capable of getting the mailbox structure, i would consider this as a bug. The structure needs to be preserved, especially when arching a whole mailbox.
Are these scripts wich are used by the mailimport somewhere to be found? So i could try and fix myself and get as a sideeffect some learning about the way it is done?
Is there somewhere a bug tracker or something similar, where we could see all open and known issues?
Just to know you are aware of (maybe even see the targeted version for the fix) and don’t double post.
A search in the forum might help to avoid that. Also, the developers made it very clear (again: forum search reveals that) that they do not discuss time frames for features or bug fixes publicly. That’s similar to many non-open-source apps.
I guess the developers are not publishing the information because they don’t want users to fiddle around with these scripts and then having to support them. That’s at least what I’d do.
