"make link" feature spilt links when including 2 languages

i made a short video to re-produce this issue:
make link issue video

as demonstrated in the video, when the text includes 2 languages and made link, the link will be spilt into two, each link can only link to the specific language.
and you can not make a link that covers the whole text of 2 languages.
is a problem considering my working environment is heavily bilingual.

any help? thanks.

It’s certainly the first report I can recall seeing. Development will have to look into it.

thanks. will await your reply.
this is a major feature for me, hope it could get fixed.

The next maintenance release will fix this.

thanks a lot. but let me add another exhibit to this issue, it’s not only limited to bilingual context, seems apply to Chinese language in general. please see the below link:

with Chinese as language and a comma in the middle, the make link feature will only capture separate text, not all of them.

If you hadn’t noticed, Chinese doesn’t use Latin characters

Well:

And then there are the (Arab, not Latin) digits that western languages use. Those also occur in Mandarin, afaict.

yea, Chinese language is weird like that…
would it get fixed?

I can’t speak for development but they’ll see the comments on the thread.

nontheless, thanks for the quick reply as always.
