A hopefully minor but very time-saving improvement would be to make the Safari DT3 share sheet default to importing as PDF when the doc it’s invoked for is already a PDF.
Thanks for the suggestion, we might change this in upcoming releases (assuming that nobody prefers the current behaviour).
Well, I prefer the current behaviour. Don’t want to capture every URL that points to a PDF as PDF, so changing the current behaviour would be a bad thing over here. A (hidden) preference might probably be the best way.
Well, just found this old thread when searching for a solution: the current behaviour of the import function is not sufficient, when the original safari-document is already a PDF. If you have more than one PDF to download and share from Safari to DT3 for iOS, it always correctly identifies the first download as PDF, but the next download will be recognized as a link only, with the options to clip to rtf, create a note, markdown or text, but no option to import as a PDF.
The workaround is tedious: share to a pdf-App first, and then share from the pdf-App to DT3. This is a little bit ridiculous. Would make sense to still be able to import a second file from Safari as PDF, if desired.
as far as I know this is a known bug (see other threads in this forum about this issue) - it will probably be fixed with the next release.
