Making "Item list" configuration not group dependant

If I understand well, the “item list” configuration (which view mode, columns in what order and width, …) depends on which group I am in. I can understand some people wish for that. Not me.

How can I enforce a certain item list configuration throughout all groups/tags?

It’s specific for each database and other sidebar items (inbox, tags, smart groups/rules).

I understand why it’s specific.

Please gimme a mean to batch apply a certain layout to a certain amount of those elements (either as contextual menu or …).
