MD export becomes a webarchive

I am sure it intended, but I noticed that when I export an Indexed markdown document using File->Export->Document it creates a webarchive with all wikilinks converted to DT item links. It certainly makes the quick preview good :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:.

Could the DT help section on export better describe what is likely to happen?

Here is what I have found when the source is a markdown document:

  • Drag and drop creates identical MD document
  • File-Export-Document creates a webarchive with pictures embedded (in html) and all wiki links converted to markdown links with DT uid.
  • File-Export-As text document - creates an identical MD document but the extension is now txt rather than md.

Raising this more for info.

I tried it with two MD documents here. Both were exported as MD by drag/drop and by File/Export/Document.
On macOS 15, though.

My MD document contained both images and wiki links. I am backing up my laptop at the moment. As soon as it is finished, I will post screen shots so you can see. I have updated the post as the MD document was also indexed.

The preview is exported as a web archive, the source as a Markdown document.
