Merging images into one searchable PDF

Hi,
I have read this forum extensively but can’t find an answer to this question. I imported a series of 50 images from my iPhone via “share” with DTTG. When I click “edit” in the top right I can select them as a group and then I click the “three dots” icon on the bottom left and it pulls up a tab with different options (e.g. purge, add to, convert etc.). When I click “convert” to searchable PDF, it converts each image separately, and so I end up with 50 searchable PDFs, which I don’t want.
What I would like to do is merge the images together into searchable PDF.

Meanwhile, in my desktop devonthink, I can easily merge the images by navigating to data and then clicking “merge,” but the result is a non-searchable PDF.

Is there any way to merge the photos in DTTG and have the OCR happen there in the app?

Thanks!

DEVONthink on a Mac ≠ DEVONthink To Go on mobile and iOS ≠ macOS so you can’t expect all the same functions on both platforms.
Also, you can easily do OCR on the merged document.

Currently, merging and automatically OCRing images is not a function of DEVONthink To Go.

Thank you for this reply. You mention that I can easily OCR the merged document on regular desktop DevonThink. I tried this, I right click and press OCR to convertible PDF, and this triggers a pop-up of my DevonThink registration (DevonThink 3) with all the …but then nothing happens. I click 'OK" confirming my registration and…nothing. So i’m not sure how to get the OCR to work.

You’re welcome.

You need to be running either the Pro or the Server edition to use DEVONthink’s OCR. Conversely, you can do the OCR in DEVONthink To Go just as you initially mentioned. Then merge those documents in DEVONthink on the Mac after syncing.

I see! OK, I will think about which approach works better. Appreciate it!

Sorry, another question! I decided to purchase Pro version as an upgrade so I can use the OCR. It says “click here to download DevonThink Pro”, which I did. But when I go to install, it just says the program is “DevonThink 3” , (not Pro), and when I drag the app into my applications folder, I receive a warning that the same app already exists in that place. It asks if I want to replace it. I’m not sure what to do because I thought these were two different applications. Any advice would be appreciated!

DEVONthink Pro is not a separate application, everything is already there inside DEVONthink. Certain features are just locked/unlocked depending on your license (Standard, Pro, Server). Just change your license information (Menu bar: DEVONthink 3 > License… – remove your old license and enter your new one.)
