I have a database (let’s call it Database 1) in which I have added an indexed folder (Folder A). I am now restructuring my DEVONthink databases and have created a new database (Database 2). I would like Folder A to no longer show in Database 1, but instead in Database 2, while remaining indexed and not imported.
I believe when I just drag it to Database 2 it gets imported into the database. I guess I could re-index it in Database 2; however, I have annotation files in DEVONthink that contain links to the files in the indexed folder in Database 1 and I don’t want those links to be broken.
I believe it did for me because I had at some point in the past inadvertently checked “Automatically move indexed items into database” under Settings → Files → General → Indexed Items. I guess I incorrectly thought this setting would only apply to files being moved out of the indexed folder into another group, not to moving the indexed folder itself.
Now that I have unchecked this, it seems to work like you say. Thanks!
